Getting started, Part 7

If your ambitions still is to become a really great and aknowledged manager in ManagerLeague, we will continue to help you on your way with this getting started guide. We will now go through all of the games aspects and situations. We started the guide with the basics, and will now continue with a deeper insight to the game.
In our last lesson we went through how the different types of Staff work and help your club. This time we will look on the stadium and its upgrades.

Stadium
To do the right upgrades at the right time is important, especially in the beginning of your career. Tiny wrong choices can make the difference from surviving economically or going bankrupt. You have eleven different upgrades, and most of them will give you money with time, but some also has an effect on your teams performance (especially on games played at home). We will now go through every single upgrade.

Capacity
This one is simply economy, and will be your main income in the beginning of your ML career. You will start with a capacity of 5000 on your stadium, and the first thing you should do is to upgrade to 10 000 before spending money on anything else -like new players.

Lights
This upgrade will give you two economic advantages. First and foremost it will give you a chance that your home matches will be shown on TV, and give you income this way. But it will also be more fun for your fans to come see your games, which means you can increase the ticket price and still get as many viewers to come to the game.

Heat
If you put heat under your stadium, this will help your stadium grass be perfect throughout the season. This will also increase playing on home grounds. When this is fully upgradet, you will also have an extendable roof, giving you the possibility to keep the snow and hail out, and let the sun in whenever it's needed.

Scoreboard
This upgrade will make it fun much more for your fans to come and see your team, and will also give you a possibility to raise your ticketprices.

Fan shop
With this upgrade you will have your very own souvernirshop on the stadium, so that your fans who attends the game will be able to spend some extra money before they go home.

Restaurant
Get your own restaurant in the stadium so that your supporters doesn't have to be hungry throughout the game, and so that they'll leave some extra cash on food and drinks.

Youth Facilities
This upgrade will make sure your new youth players minimum quality increases. In other words you will have a better chance of getting good talents to reach your main 11 man team.

Training facilities
If you upgrade your trainingfacilities this will make sure that your team training improves faster. For every upgrade the chance of improvement will improve with 5%. Note that this upgrade has NO effect on individual training.

Parking
If you have a big stadium, it might be that your supporters does not get parking close enough to the stadium. This will make them turn their car around and go home instead of spending their money to come see your match. This upgrade is not neccessary unless you have a stadium capacity of 30000 or more.

VIP boxes
This is an upgrade for the teams in the higher divisions. It is boxes for very important people, and the chance of a 6th division club getting a VIP to come to their homematches is close to nothing. Not neccessary for clubs in lower than div 3.

Advertising space
This last upgrade is also a financial upgrade. It will change your sponsors offers, since the sponsor will be more visible with more advertising space.

To upgrade your stadium in the correct order is very important. This will not just give you bigger incomes, but will also help you on the way to getting a better team with bigger advantages to win your matches.

In the next issue of Getting started we will quickly go through the financial parts of the game like ticketprices, choice of sponsor and ManagerLeagues transfermarket. We are going to take a look at how this works, and give you some tips on how to use the system in the best way.

We wish you good look with the game, and hope you are on your way to becoming one of the next big managers in ManagerLeagues virtual world.
