Getting started, Part 8

As you have come this far in the ML-school,your ambitions would be to become a really good and well respected manager at ManagerLeague.

We will still try to help you on your way to fame and glory, but beware that the ML-school is getting close to the end. We started the school with the most elementary and have now started to see the end of what we can teach you. Since this is a game about tactics and strategy, there are no conclusive answer to what's the better or worse in this. It's your decisions that will influence the results of your matches.

In the previous part we took a look at how to upgrade your stadium, and what the different upgrades did mean, and what effect they had for you and your team. This time we will talk about ticketprices, sponsores and not at least the transfermarket. It is basicaly the choices you do in these areas that influences how much money you will make for your club.

Ticketprices and sponsors

A lot of managers are struggling in their early carreer as managers to fill their stadiums, and therefor find that increasing capasity is not worthwhile.
This problem is an easy task to solve; navigate yourself to Economics, and there you wil find finances. At this page you will find something called Controle finances, and in this part there are three values for you to adjust,to get your stadium filled with spectators. If you are totally new to the game you will nor have a fanshop or a restaurant at your stadium. It's therefor no incomemargines to adjust there. So Shop-profit and Foodprofit can be set to lowest value 30%. This means that your fans are willing to pay an eveb higher ticketprice than if your shop-profits have been skyhigh. Try to adjust your ticketprice a little up and down until you manage to fill your stadium. Later on,when you have upgraded both shop and restaurant,it is about time to starting to adjust both ticketprices and profit % at your shop and restaurant,to gain the most money from your homegroundmatches. This is not always as easy as it sounds, and there will be big differences from team to team ,in what price leve wich gives the best result. This also depends on wich division you are playing in.

Sponsors
At the same page as ticketprices, you find your option to choose your sponsor, this you do at every seasonstart. Before choosing your sponsor, think about your goals for the season, since where you end at the table in the end influences the payment from your sponsor. If you are aiming for promotion, you should choose between two kinds of sponsors.Either a sponsor giving much money regardless of how you end at the table,or you should aim for a sponsor giving much money for top places in the league. Most important here is to set realistic goals for the season. Don't choose a sponsor that gives more money for winning the series,if you realistic know you will be struggeling in the lower half of the table. So it's importrant to be realistic here, and calculate how much it will give back if you win reach your goals, and what happens if not. Do you need fast money at the start of the season, then take a sponsor with high sign on fee,but over some time, these sponsors often are those giving less money to your club.

Transfermarket.
At first sight the transfermarket might look a little scary to a newbie. It isn't that many that really know the true art of doing the right decisions regarding selling and buying players. Good youngsters are hard to get to a newbie,if you're going to buy from another manager. The most talented players are sold for more than 100 millions, and due to that it's impossible for a manager with only 20 millions to buy such players, and at the same time are going to upgrade your stadium ,using from the same 20 millions. If you're lucky you you get one or two good youngsters in your team, wich you can sell immidiately, and then by some more players to train for yourself.

If you want to promote fast, you need to be able to handle the transfermarket in a good way to get hold of new big talented players, wich with proper training might be the new Maradona or Pelè.To manage this you need to be very active at the transfermarket.there is a forum at the game which only purpose is to handle transfer requests,it's called *
Transfer Forum (under common at forums),and it's recommended to take notice of those threads . You might be lucky to get hold of a youthplayer for his value. As a starter it could be wise not to aim too high regarding quality on the players. the higher quality, the higher price.Youngsters from Q70 and below are easy to get hold of ,even down to 70% of value.

There also is a page called teamless players.Almost every fifth minute during the season new players are added. mostly players between 17 and 21 years old. These players are bought for their value +1 credit (you get 15 credits at the start of each season) . Click the button for teamless players when searching the transfermarket, then you only will get teamless players displayed to you. This page you find at Transfers, and search. .

After having bought some players,it's time to train them well. let them play as many matches as possible, and all kind of matches, not only friendlies (Getting started,Part 5 for more info). Having trained them for a couple of seasons, you will now be able to sell some of them with å pretty good profit, and you start all over with new youths to train. Doing this a couple of times, you will have  strong enough economics to start to aim for the top players, and starting to build up your team around these players. Don't forget, patient is highly recomended at this game.

In the next part of ML-school,wich also will be our last part,we will try to tell you about some small details as,if you learnhow to use them right ,might make you a realy good, and highly respected manager in ManagerLeagues fabuolos world.
